A 37 Y man presented with h/o recent onset hypertension. There was no h/o hypertension in the family. On evaluation, there were multiple simple cysts in both the kidneys, with one large cyst in the lower pole of rt kidney leading to displacement of renal parenchyma downwards. This has lead to splaying of the Rt renal artery and increased renal arterial resistance thus triggering the Renin- Angiotensin System (RAS) and Hypertension.
He was taken up for Laparoscopic deroofing of the cyst. Post procedure the his BP normalised without medication.
